CREATED: In 1794 the Franciscans settled the town of La Purísima Concepción de Bugaba. Law 6 of August 1863 created the Bugaba District. |

AREA: 884.3 square kilometers, which makes it the largest district in the province of Chiriqui. Borders to the North with the Bocas del Toro province, to the West with the Renacimiento & Barú Districts, to the East with the Boquete and Boqueron Districts and to the South with the Alanje District. |
